Technical specifications – flooring properties

Parquet is graded and priced according to the number of strips, from one, two and three strips, which describe how many strips are visible per board. Sorting, surface, colours, planing and species of wood help determine the price. In the major project market, these parameters become crucial not only for aesthetic reasons, but also for the functionality of the floor over time.

All our suppliers have floors dried to 7% (+/-2%) moisture and that are approved for underfloor heating – a technical prerequisite that ensures material stability in both open-plan offices, schools and other public buildings.

Vyrk sells everything from 3-strip parquet to solid floors in 400 mm width, but with quality as a common denominator regardless of the choice. Our suppliers take environmental considerations into account and are concerned with preserving the renewable properties in the resources that are extracted. The value of being able to choose frames, materials and colours of flooring, panelling and moulding at the same time is undoubtedly an important factor for a professional and overall end result.

Floor maintenance for professional environments

In high-traffic projects, regular maintenance becomes essential to ensure both aesthetic and functional durability. Depending on the intensity of use of the floor, treatment with maintenance oil must be carried out regularly to preserve the floor as best as possible. Feel free to use white care oil on white floors, natural care oil for natural floors and dark for dark shades. Clean the floor thoroughly with parquet cleaner and let the floors dry completely before applying oil.
